Columns in Cemeteries

While exploring the different cemeteries, I saw different styles of columns. This lead me to research the different architectural styles of columns: Doric, Ionic and Corithaian.

Styles of Columns

Doric

Slender columns with strong plain top and bottom plates.

Doric columns are found on the Parthenon in Athens.

Ionic

The capitals will have serials and have flutes on the columns.

Ionic columns can be found on the US Treasury building and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC

Corinthian

The capitals will be highly decorated with acanthus leaves and other elements.

Corinthian columns can be found on the Temple of Zeus.
